The Apple Design Awards (ADA) is a special event hosted by Apple Inc. at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference. The event is meant to recognize the best and most innovative Macintosh and iOS software and hardware produced by independent developers, as well as the best and most creative uses of Apple’s products. The ADAs, as they are commonly known, are awarded in a variety of categories which vary from year to year. The Apple Design Awards have been presented each year since 1990, though for the first two years of their existence they were known as the Human Interface Design Excellence (HIDE) Awards.
Since 2003 the physical awards were designed with an Apple logo that glows when touched. The trophy is an aluminum cube, and each side is 3.9 inches (or 10 cm) long. The cube weighs 55.5 ounces (1575 grams). These new awards were engineered and built by Sparkfactor Design.

Random information on the term “SEND”:
Send is the tenth studio album by the English rock group Wire, released in 2003. It was their first recording as a 4 piece since Manscape (1990) and the first full-length release by any incarnation of the group since 1991. The album contains seven songs previously released in 2002 on the EPs Read & Burn 01 and Read & Burn 02, and four songs exclusive to this release.
Mojo ranked Send at 10 on their best albums of 2003 list. The album also scores 84/100 on Metacritic, signifying “universal acclaim”.
All tracks are written by Wire.
Initial mail-order copies of the album came with a bonus live album WIRE – Metro, Chicago, 14th September 2002. It was reported that this inclusion came about due to concern being raised at the fact that the majority of Send had already been available on the group’s two Read & Burn EPs. The live album later became part of the Wire Legal Bootleg series in 2010 as Legal Bootleg Series: 14 Sept 2002 Metro, Chicago.
